My weekend holiday in Ylläs

I (Milla) spent my last weekend on Ylläs with my family. Ylläs is a skiing center in Lapland. Ylläs has some of the most longest skiing slopes in Finland. (highest one is 718 meters above sea level) We stayed at a hotel called SaagaSkiChalets. I think that Ylläs is the best place for skiing and snowboarding in Finland.

Here are some pictures from Ylläs:

Snow

Today at first we were at the computerclass working on our SOS-projects. But then it started raining snow outside so we (Milla,Jaakko and Iiro) went out to play with it! We made a snow man and throw few snowballs at each other.

This is the snowman we made!

This is Rovaniemi.....

So at first we  are going to tell some facts about our home town Rovaniemi.
Rovaniemi is the capital of Lapland and the centre for international expertise and culture. The population of the city is about 60 000. The city is located in the nortic circle, between Sweden and Russia. Rovaniemi is also known as the home town of Santa Claus.

Dispite the small size of the city it has a lot to offer for its residents. Over here you can enjoy real winter and nightless nights in summer. You can enjoy Finnish forests and nature year round in the land of thousand lakes.

There are many activities you can do here in Rovaniemi. You can try out everything from hiking to ice fishing or even try out more exotic hobbies like winter swimming!

In this blog were going to tell you about some of these hobbies and freetime activities that we mentioned earlier.
